Begonia culasiensis is a species endemic to the Philippines, specifically found in the lowland forest at approximately 50 meters in elevation.

Monoecious rhizomatous herb. Notable for having oblongoid capsules, which is a unique characteristic among Philippine Begonias.

Etymology[edit]

Named for its locality, the Municipality of Culasi, where the new species was discovered.

Comparison to Similar Species[edit]

Compared Begonia rubrifolia,, Begonia culasiensis has larger lamina, longer petiole, lesser stamens, shorter anthers, and narrower (oblong vs. rhomboidal to orbicular) capsules.
