Description

Stipules are ovate-triangular, 0.7-0.9 cm long, and 0.7-1.1 cm wide. Petioles are 13-26(-30) cm long, hirsute-villous. Leaf blades are suborbicular or broadly ovate, 12-26(-35) cm long, and 11-19(-27) cm wide. They are papery, adaxially deeply green or brownish, and have white or pale bands along major veins. The leaves are densely shortly setose and hispid-setulose on the upper surface and densely hispidulous-pilose on all veins on the lower surface. The base is rounded and slightly oblique, with shallowly unequally serrulate or undulate margins. The apex is acute to shortly acuminate. - **Venation:** Basally 6- or 7-palmate, with percurrent tertiary veins creating a spiderweb-like pattern. - **Inflorescences:** Axillary with peduncles 9-31 cm long. Flowers are white and arranged in dichasial cymes. - **Flower Characteristics:** Staminate flowers have pink tepals, while carpellate flowers have pink tepals and an ovary with unequal wings.
