Plant having the vegetation, the vigor, the size and form of the leaves of the B. discolor; flowering early. Very beautiful foliage; in its young age, of a dark purple, turning successively into a bronze-antique uniform color, with very brilliant reflections; the back of the leaves and the petioles of a dark red. A distinct and very beautiful variety.

The varieties of this new group of begonias do not yet show great differences from one another; they all have matte silvery-white leaves with green veins, but otherwise completely the habit of Begonia discolor (grandis), and should presumably be just as suitable as the parent species for planting in shady or partially shady flower beds. Without a doubt, this new group of begonias can be significantly improved by crossbreeding in two directions: firstly, with regard to leaf markings, and secondly, with regard to flowers.
