B. ‘Furstin Fanny Arenburg’

I named the Begonia reproduced on the colored illustration above (Furstin Fanny Arenberg). I raised it from seed four years ago, which I won by crossing a dark red with a white one. The plant itself vigorously grows, forms but only small tubers and these only last the one-year, from cuttings plant originating nodules in winter very sensitive, so that always losses are to be complained. She is incredibly rich. True in the summer the soft pink prevails - but always a white center is present - in the autumn the white filling of the flower, here and there mixed with green stripes, (sometimes even very green) predominant, so that only the peripheral petals are pink-colored. The flowers reach an astonishing size and are suspended because of their weight; they always found the undivided applause of their own as well as the foreign guests sitting here, as well as the expert.
