B. ‘Bill Cook’

No. 496 - Begonia (B. Purpurea x unnamed hybrid) 'Bill Cook' Originated by Bob Cole, The Plant Shop, 18007 Topham, Reseda, CA 91335, in 1974, this rhizomatous, stem erect, plant has distinctive foliage, a seven-lobed palmate leaf of good form, green, silver-splashed, with reddish underside, and red hair. The 4 ½” x 6 ½” leaf has a serrated margin and a smooth texture with scattered hair; petioles, 6-10", reddish green, translucent; stipules, ¾ x ½”; nerves 7. The plant has not yet flowered. Registered July 15, 1975.
