B. lyallii var. urschii

A typo et aliis var. differt florum tepalis usque ad 20 mm longis latisque, foliis superne atrovirentibus, inferne purpureis, utrinque nerviis valde conspicuis, viridis. Leaves dark green or a little purple on the upper side, red or dark green-red on the lower side, lined with pale green; ribs very clearly marked. Summit stems also often red and petiole roses. Petiole and limb almost always very glabrous, marks of some small white concretions, persistent more than a year in ombriere. Usually several inflorescences at the same time; flowers white or pink, with large orbicular tepals, ropes, reaching almost 20 mm. Stamens with long threads of 1.5-2 mm with antheres 2-2 5 mm long. - Pl. 24, p. 79.
