Chicago 1937. v. 18: pt. 2 (1937): Page 737-48 http://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/item/19747 Plants rhizomatous, the leaves long-petiolate, the petioles densely covered with lanceolate scales; blades transversely rounded-reniform, large, acute or short-acuminate, deeply cordate at the base, entire, glabrous above, pilose beneath on the nerves; peduncles mostly shorter than the leaves, squamose, the flowers few; sepals 2, the staminate 5 mm. long, glabrous; capsules long-pilose, the largest wing rounded-ovate, descending-transverse, 4 mm. long, the other 2 much narrower.
