B. sambiranensis
Plant very small, acaule, entirely glabrous, developing from a subglobular tubercle about 1 cm in diameter. Leaves most often solitary, sometimes 2-3; petiole 1-4 mm long; limb equilateral, orbicular or suborbicular, long and 1-3 cm wide, sometimes a little decurrent on petiole palmatinerve; very thin veins. Stipules small, lanceolate, acute. Inflorescences 1-3 to peduncle 3-10 cm long, bare, with small bracts, narrowly lanceolate, acute, deciduous at maturity; inflorescence pauciftore a single MALE flower or two (MALE and FEMALE), or three (2 MALE, 1 FEMALE), MALE flowers with a pedicel 4-6 mm long; 2 orbicular tepals, 3-4 mm in diameter, pink. Stamens 3-5 with lightly welded threads at their base, free on 1.5 mm; oblong antheres, obtuse, 1 mm long. FEMALE flower with pedicel 1-2 mm long; 4 tepals oblong, subequal, 1-2 mm long. Elliptical ovary, 3 mm long; styles 3 free, bifid; arched stigma with twisted ends. Capsule small, pendulous, 5 X 4 mm (including wings); 3 rounded wings the widest of 1.3 mm the two small, very narrow. - Pl. 9 p. 35. The vegetative apparatus of this species is somewhat reminiscent of paucifole alticola forms of B. princeae Gilg (rhodesiana Irmscher) but is much more pronounced.
