B. perrieri

imperfectly known, Plant suffrutescente, with stem erect, simple, a little fleshy, has leaves long petioles, deciduous. Rope-asymmetric limb. Sinuate-denticle on the margins, palmatinerve, 15-20 cm long and wide, a little shaggy and has metallic reflections on it, more or less purple and glabrous below. Whole membranous stems, 3 X 1.5 cm. Inflorescence subterminal, erect, composed of several multiflorous cymes. White MALE flowers, with 2 tepals. Stamens 20-30, free, ± biseriees, with short fillets. FEMALE flower has 4 subepal tepals. Ovary has 3 unequal wings; styles 3, bifurcated-lyres. High capsule of 22 mm, large wing of 15 mm Jarge approx. very fine. This plant has been described on flowery material in the greenhouses of the Museum of Paris, material from seeds sent by Perrier de la Bathie in 1909 and presumably from Manongarivo, Sambirano region. This taxon could approach the Begonia francoisii Guillaumin. If it turns out that the species should be preserved, it would probably be judicious to give it a new denomination not likely to be confused with B. pierrei Gagnepain of Cochin China (and not Madagascar as indicated sometimes).
