Rhizoma breve, lignosum. Petioli 8 uncias longi; folia 6-8 uncias longa, cordato-ovata acuta, integra minute serrulata. Flores non visi. Pedunculi fructigeri 6 uncias longi. Capsula longa ½ unciam, lata -1/3 unciam, subquadrata, loculis 2, anguste 1-alata, in tribus lateribus dehiscens ; placentae bifidae. The capsule is unlike that of any other Platycentrum known e to me, as it is widest in the plane which is at right angles to the plane containing the principal wing. The principal wing is here, too very small.
