B. metachroa
A small growing begonia with very dark foliage, almost black.
Begonia metachroa is a stunning and compact begonia best suited for terrarium culture. It was described as a species in 1933, but has never bloomed in cultivation. The leaves are dark and iridescent with a red reverse and bright red petioles. Leaves will lighten to a bronze color in bright light, so it is best to grow under indirect light for superior color.
