B. hatacoa ‘Silver’
Given the name hatacoa Silver in 1979, but is likely much older and allied with the xanthina and hatacoa var. hatacoa crosses of around 1858 by Roezl.
rubrovenia is the former name for hatacoa, argentea is Latin for silvery.
This is possibly the hybrid called rubrovenia argentea or xanthina argentea, the result of crossing B. xanthina marmorea [xanthina x hatacoa v. hatacoa] with itself during Regel's experiments in the fertility of hybrids in the 1858 Gartenflora.
