B. ‘Beiji Ye’

Hybridized by Wen-Wen Du and Qing Duan from Flower Research Institute, Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, PR China. Applied for on August 25, 2024 and approved on September 29, 2024.

This rex cultivar first bloomed in 2017 by planned hybridization in 2016, then has been patented (CNA20172697.1) by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the PR China in 2021. It's up to ca. 24 cm tall and ca. 44 cm wide when mature. The reddish-green petiole is ca. 23 cm long with white hairs. The palmate and ovate leat blade is ca. 12.6

× 9.1 cm with a cordate base that sometimes has overlapped lobes, a ciliate margin, and an acuminate apex. The upper leaf surface is deep green with a very wide silver band. The lower leaf surface is pale green with maroon center, main veins, and margin.

Just a few pinkish-white flowers are produced from August to October. Beiji and Ye in Chinese mean the Arctic Pole and night, respectively.
