B. ‘Salagubang’

This creeping rhizomatous cultivar is very similar to Begonia madulidii. It has been widely cultivated in Bicol, Luzon, the Philippines. It's ca. 14-19 cm tall and ca. 12-15 cm wide when mature. The pale green stipules with citrine tints are ca. 10-14 × 4-8 mm and the apple green petiole is ca. 10-15 cm long with sparse hairs.

The glossy and very broadly ovate leaf blade is ca. 10 × 15 cm with a cordate base, an undulate and denticulate margin, and an acuminate apex.

The upper leaf surface is apple-green with light green veins. The lower leaf surface is light ap-ple-green. The 4-tepaled male and female flower are light pink. Flowers are abundantly produced on a ca. 14 cm long apple-green peduncle with maroon tints from March to December. It's used in the Philippines as a salad or is cooked in fish dishes. Salagubang means green beetle in Filipino.
