B. ‘Qing Niao’

This shiny foliage cane-like cultivar for terrarium culture was developed in 2023 by artificial hybridization. It's ca. 23 cm tall and ca. 29 cm wide when mature. The green stipules are ca. 20 × 8 mm and the maroon petiole is ca. 3 cm long.

The oval leaf blade is ca. 20 × 10 cm with a cordate base that has overlapped lobes, a serrate and undulated margin, and an acuminate apex. The upper leaf surface is dark green (red when young) with silver spots and blotches, a very narrow silver margin, and a silver tip. The lower leaf surface is maroon. The light pink 2-tepaled male flowers and 5-tepaled female flower are abundant on a ca. 2.5 cm long maroon peduncle in summer and fall seasons. Qing and Niao in Chinese mean bluish-green and bird, respectively for the color and shape of the foliage.
