B. ‘BC Red Mystery’

This strikingly patterned foliage cultivar was developed in 2021 and first bloomed in 2023.
It's ca. 35 cm tall and ca. 55 cm wide when mature. The dark maroon stipules are ca. 20 x 10 mm and the dark maroon petiole is ca. 20 cm long with dense hairs. The palmate and ovate leaf blade is ca. 15 × 12 cm with a single or double spiraled base, a serrate and ciliate margin, and an acuminate apex. The upper surface is magenta in the center and margin with a very wide greenish-silver band. The light pink 4-tepaled male flowers and 5-tepaled female flowers are few on a ca. 15 cm long dark maroon peduncle in spring.
