B. ‘Blood Wraith’
Hybridized by Daniel Babineau from Massachusetts. Applied for on July 1, 2025 and approved on September 20, 2025.
This compact cultivar for both terrarium and greenhouse was developed in 2024 by planned hybridization and first bloomed in 2025. It's ca. 15 cm tall and ca. 15 cm wide at maturity. The maroon stipules are ca. 10 × 5 mm and the maroon petiole is ca. 1-3 cm long. The ovate leaf blade is ca. 16 x 10 cm with a cordate base, a crenate margin, and an acuminate apex. The upper leaf surface is dark green (burgundy when young), glossy and bullate.
The lower leaf surface is light maroon. The pinkish-white 4-tepaled male flowers and 5-tepaled female flowers are few on a maroon peduncle. Please contact the breeder: dbabineau@smith.edu for more details.
