B. xanthina 'Lucida'

Again, a hybrid bred by Inspector Bouché, which has far fewer characteristics with B. rubrovenia than the previous one [atrorubens], but possesses one characteristic that both parent species lack. The entire plant does not appear to grow as large as B. xanthina. Its leaves again show distinct ears, almost like those of the genus Allgemeinen. The substance within the mesh of the leaves is very convex, so that the upper surface sometimes appears blister-like. The color is again the characteristic blackish-green of B. xanthina, but generally somewhat lighter and very glossy. On the veins and larger veins of the underside, there are not only individual bristly hairs, but also a somewhat floccose-woolly and easily wiped-off pubescence
