B. 'Margaritífera'
B. 'Margaritífera' or B. 'Margaritifera.' The leaves are brownish-green with a blue sheen, as is sometimes the case with B. lazuli (B. xanthina) and B. poecila (B. picta vera van Houtte). Small, pearly-white spots are evenly distributed across the leaf's numerous club-like raised areas. The underside of the leaf is dark red. Liebig presented 18 hybrids with B. rex as the mother at the Spring 1860 meeting of The Society for Promotion of Horticulture in Berlin.
