B. 'Giuseppe Terreni'

The center of the leaf is a lush green but not extensive in area; instead, it is closely enclosed by a silvery-white pattern—sharply jagged at the edges—that occupies the greater part of the leaf. A striking, truly bronze-colored border is separated from the central white section by a band of fresh light green, which is in turn speckled with a multitude of tiny white dots. Nothing surpasses the delicate coloring of the young leaves of this begonia, which is so distinctive in both its growth habit and its interplay of colors. Liebig presented 18 hybrids with B. rex as the mother at the Spring 1860 meeting of The Society for Promotion of Horticulture in Berlin.
