B. 'Elisabeth'

The base color of the leaf is dark olive-green, broken by a very beautiful white pattern. A distinctive coloration—found in only a few other begonias—appears particularly characteristic here; it has a satiny sheen that shifts with every turn of the leaf. The leaves, which droop slightly towards the tip, also present a graceful appearance. Liebig presented 18 hybrids with B. rex as the mother at the Spring 1860 meeting of The Society for Promotion of Horticulture in Berlin.
