B. ‘Kidogo’
This rhizomatous cultivar was developed by an artificial cross made in 2022. It's ca. 17 cm tall and ca. 30 cm wide when mature. The maroon stipules are ca. 2.5 × 3 mm and the maroon petiole is ca. 8.5 cm long with hairs. The peltate and ovate leaf blade is ca. 5 × 3.5 cm with a very shallowly dentate and ciliate margin, and an acminate apex. Both leaf surfaces are green with shades of copper along the margin. The 2 cm long male and female flowers are both 2-tepaled.
The outside of the tepals turn from dark orange in bud to bright yellow at maturity. Blooms are produced on a ca. 6-8 cm long maroon peduncle almost year-round. with peak time being spring. ‘Kidogo’ is Swahili for “Life.”
