Original incorrect description: Die Gartenwelt, Jahr. 7, (1902-1903) B. President de Bourville: In drawing, coloring and form, the Begonia 'President de Bourville' pictured opposite, probably from a Rex diadema cross (? D. Red.), Is simply magnificent. The color of the leaf is a metallic shimmering pink to red, the pronounced veining dark green. The whole surface of the leaf is covered with dark-pink; The red coloring of the stem and the petioles also helps to describe the plant as quite valuable. Both for sale as a potted plant, as well as for cutting it is particularly suitable. The flower is pink in color, but is not considered in comparison to the coloring of the leaf. Propagation is done by cuttings. The cuttings are easy and branch freely. - Crusius.

The correction of the above statement in the same article: The begonia pictured on page 172, mistakenly described as President de Bourville is correctly called President de Bourenille (still wrong), as Mr. Duval of Versailles kindly informed us recently. The variety is also not a Rex Diadema hybrid, which we immediately doubted by adding a question mark, but rather a cross between Begonia Rex and Begonia subpeltata. The breeder of the variety is Mr. Lionet, the private gardener of Mr. Mallet in Jouy near Versailles. President de Bourenille was first introduced to the market in 1886.
