B. ‘Lubeca’
Die Gartenwelt, Jahr. 7, (1902-1903) B. semperflorens 'Lubeca': Begonia 'Lubeca' was launched as a novelty this year by Philipp Paulig in Lübeck. It reaches a height of 20-25 cm. and has regular, lively green leaves. The flowers that emerge from all the leaf axils are in panicles and are large and bright pink in color. Begonia 'Lubeca' is an excellent material for bedding and as a top plant, which astonishes everyone with its abundance of flowers. In the pot, it resembles a rosy-red sphere, so it is covered with flowers all over. This Begonia is particularly effective on the board and at the window and as a material of binding. The flowering time falls in the months of December and January, where there is known to be little choice in flowering plants. - Gottleib Altdorfer, Trier.
