Not exceeding 7 or 8 inches in height, the plants branch so freely that they form almost globular bushes 8 to 10 inches across, which are profusely covered with brilliant blooms of a fiery scarlet red, the effect of which is considerably heightened by the prominent yellow anthers. The foliage, of a sort dark green, spotted and bordered with bronzy red, forms an effective background to the scarlet of the flowers. Begonia Mignon comes true from seed and Is of perfectly even growth. We can strongly recommend it for all kinds of bedding purposes, the formation of lines and edgings more especially.
